Proper snow.

On Thursday night, we had snow.
It has been a long, long time since we have seen snow like this.
It is very gratifying to see Joe in snow like this. Proper stuff that settles for days. This is the kind of snow that I remember as a kid and I am really pleased for Joe that he will be able to look back on a good fall of snow.
Joe and his friend Reece went out onto the field behind the house for snowballs and sledging.
Steph, Reece's mum and their dog Milly came too.The road is still iced on Tuesday, five days after the first fall.

Once in Royal David's City

Joseph very sportingly sang for us. He sang a few times enabling me to fade into and out of each version.
A "one-hit" take is at the end.

Ice-cream and crabs.

This blog is to record a couple of days at Roundhill Camp site in the New Forest. Joseph and myself went to visit for only one night so the pictures are necessarily targeted around that time.
Day 1 Weds 12th August.

When the sailing went by the board, we had to invade and hold the childrens playground until the call of ice cream became to loud and insistent to ignore.

Crabs were caught, released and quite possibly caught again.
Then off to the beach where the three wondered when they should meet again and Joseph screamed and got drenched.

Signs asking folk to stay off the roof are an invitation aren't they? Ruddy Turnstones

Day 2
Thursday was dominated by bicycles and of particular excitement was the dressage performance led by Katy.
William added a vital random element which added to the excitement
